More from Busta

The video for Don't Touch Me Now has just been released. I'm really enjoying it. It isn't trying to be hardcore or gangsta, just Busta Rhymes rapping fast and not breathing much.

There's also a new one with Linkin Park which is supposed to be the first single off his new album Blessed but I'm definitely not impressed with that one.

Yahhh!

Jay Smooth runs a top hip hop video blog and this is his response to the debate from the other day between Obama and Clinton (based on Soulja Boy's song Yahhh).

Apparently Fox News thought that Souja Boy had come up with the remix.

The only colour that matters is green

One of my favourite rappers Pacewon has reemerged. He's teamed up with producer Mr Green and they have an album coming out on May 23rd. Check out a few tracks on their myspace page.

There's also a video for a couple of the songs, 'Hip Hop':

There's another song called 'The Eye of the Needle'.

The Outidaz wikipedia entry has this to say about things:
Pacewon recently suggested through his MySpace page that The Outzidaz had new material coming soon. Pacewon also announced that he will be realeasing a solo LP rumoured to be titled 'The Only Color That Matters Is Green'
Don't let me down wikipedia! I'm looking for something to follow on from The Rah Rah.

Don't listen to Noel

It seems Noel Gallagher and a bunch of other British rockers are pissed off that Jay-Z is headlining Glastonbury.

Wu-Tang - The Heart Gently Weeps

Back to the essence

For a little while now I've been following I hook a beat up. The deal is simple. Each week a song is posted, people download it and sample it and make a beat out of it and then post their beats. Some of them are pretty average but others are definitely worth checking out. They've had a couple of problems and lost all the previous weeks' work but check it out, listen to the song and then check back later to hear what people have come up with. If you want, download the song yourself, cut it up and flip it yourself. You can use audacity to cut up the song and acid express to put it back together again. Go on, Dr Dre dares you.

"I was like, good gracious..."

"...ass is bodacious."

'Baby Got Back' is of course a standout, but there are others including 'Straight Outta Compton', 'Bitches Ain't Shit', and 'Gin and Juice'.
And more Nelly songs should feature female vocals with banjos.

Billy Bunks - Devil's Clay

I can't imagine any US rapper doing a song like this but it totally works for Bunks. It's hilarious but also top quality production and rapping. Get into it.

"Do not f**k with the rooftop dung-flinger..." Sound advice.

Thoughts?

Snoop doesn't believe the hype

Snoop has at least heard of Obama. Taken from here.
"The KKK gave Obama money. They was (sic) one of his biggest supporters... Why wouldn't they be? The media won't tell you that. They don't want you to know that. They just want you to know that this n%*ger befriended this other n*#ger who be (sic) threatening your values. But we all know all presidents lie to get into f**king office. That's they (sic) job."
"In America's eyes, that muthaf*&ker's gonna be president 'cos (John) McCain can't f#*k with him. Hillary (Clinton) can't f*#k with him. He's winning over white people, white ladies."

Busta's Back

More like the Busta of old, a bit wild, always entertaining. Produced by Swizz Beatz with a cool, live sound. Hopefully his new album comes off a bit more like this than The Big Bang which was a bit harder.

What do you think?

Still Shook

I've never been to interested in Mobb Deep. The Infamous is supposed to be good but it wasn't a priority to check out. Check the Technique interested me and then I listened to Shook Ones Pt II. I hadn't heard it for ages but this time it just blew me away. And this was one of the first tracks they'd ever produced themselves! It's powerful, menacing and evocative. I can see how the industry went from Shook Ones to where it is today but this is something completely different.

"I'm only nineteen but my mind is old
And when the things get for real my warm heart turns cold
Another n****a deceased, another story is told
It ain't nothin' really, ayo dun spark the phillie"
