Doomed

Illroots and Mike Waxx have lovingly put together an MF Doom mixtape. Doom's crazed, non sequitur rap is always worth checking and this mixtape is very well done. If you like this then I recommend you get Madvillainy which is a hip hop classic.

I've been hankering for some Doom lately. I thought emusic didn't have him but turns out they do! I'm getting it tonight! And for entre I'll devour the mixtape.

Great! Like I said, Madvillainy is great. That's the best first stop I reckon.

it takes a few listens this mixtape... got a really West Coast sort of vibe... it's the rapping that really grabs you on the second and third listen - it's very strong.

a lot of the backing music is questionable tho.

Yeah, it isn't a straight collection of Doom songs. His lyrics are mixed with other tracks. The music is pretty light and taken from all around. Paper Planes is a M.I.A. track with Doom's lyrics from 'Rock Co. Kane Flow' on De La Soul's Grind Date.

I really like 'I hear voices'.
